How a build works

Measure the diary before drawing the page.

Dotezy only runs two active builds at once. The process is deliberately narrow, so Mairi and Ross can keep the rules, wording and launch checks in their own hands.

Six steps

A ruled build from first call to launch morning.

  1. 01

    First call

A short call checks fit, timing and whether the job belongs with Dotezy. No speculative pitch designs and no unpaid tenders.

  2. 02

    Stocktake

Prices, services, staff calendars, opening hours, closed days, deposit rules and current booking tools are listed before design begins.

  3. 03

    Copy and structure

Dotezy shapes the page around the shop day: what customers need to know, what they can book and what has to be said before money changes hands.

  4. 04

    Build

The website or booking setup is built in a working preview. The second 40% is due at first working preview because that is when the shape can be judged.

  5. 05

    Test bookings

Desktop, mobile, confirmations, reminders, cancellations and deposits are checked with the same care as the public page.

  6. 06

    Launch morning

Launches happen Tuesday to Thursday before 2:00pm because two people need the rest of the day to watch the confirmations.

Typical timelines

Lead times are given before the slot is booked.

  • Website tidy-up10 working days for up to 6 hours of copy, layout and booking-link repairs.
  • One-page service website2 to 3 weeks, with a minimum new-build project price of £950.
  • Booking-ready website4 to 6 weeks, depending on service types, staff calendars and deposit rules.

Payment terms

The slot is held with a deposit.

40%Deposit to book a build slot
40%Due at first working preview
20%Due before launch

Hourly help after launch is £75 per hour, billed in 30 minute blocks after the first full hour.

Client shelf

What clients need to bring.

Booking-system configuration does not begin until final prices, service durations, staff names and cancellation rules are supplied. Guesswork at this stage creates bad confirmations later.

Testing

The checks are written down.

Check What Dotezy tests Why it matters
Desktop Service pages, prices, buttons and booking route. Customers often check details at work before booking later.
Mobile Tap targets, service length notes, deposit wording and confirmation path. Most appointment decisions happen on a phone.
Email confirmation Subject line, time, address, service name and any payment note. The confirmation becomes the customer's record.
Reminder Timing, tone and practical instructions. A good reminder prevents no-shows without sounding sharp.
Cancellation Policy wording, route back to rebook and any deposit condition. The rule should not surprise anyone after they cancel.
Deposit test Record of payment or simulated payment where the platform allows it. Money rules need proof, not hope.

Work turned away

Calm boundaries keep the shop useful.

Next step

If the timing, price and rules fit, the first email becomes the job record.
